It could be a scene straight from the 80s light-hearted action crime drama CHiPs.
A highway patrol officer collides with a convertible, flips off his motorbike before landing in the back seat of the car.
But this was no TV action sequence - and there was no stunt double for the officer who hurt his private parts, as well as his pride, in the accident in Redondo Beach, California.

The calamitous accident looks like a scene straight from an episode of 80s light-hearted action crime drama Chips
Where's my stunt double? The accident could have been a scene from 80s TV show CHiPs
American TV drama CHiPs followed the lives of two motorcycle police officers of the California Highway Patrol.
The show became renowned for over-the-top freeway pileups, which occurred in almost every episode.
Its main stars were Erik Estrada as macho officer Frank 'Ponch' Poncherello and Larry Wilcox as his straight-laced partner, Officer Jon Baker
Ponch was the more trouble-prone of the pair, with level-headed Jon doing his best to keep his partner out of trouble.
It's a shame for this officer that there was no one keeping an eye out for him on this occasion.
