A newly designed 200 kroner note will go into circulation on October 19th. This is the third note in a series of fresh notes. The new 50 and 100 kroner notes were released starting in 2009, and the 500 and 1000 kroner bills will come out in Spring 2011.
The front of this latest note will show the view from Amager of the Knippelsbro Bridge, which connects Slotsholmen and Christianshavn here in Copenhagen. The reverse side depicts a prehistoric belt plate, found in North Zealand.
The 200 kroner note was first introduced in 1997, and there are now 25 million of them in use.
