With every man and his corgi talking about the rapidly approaching royal wedding, there are a vast number of regal apps making their way onto the market to keep you up to date with all the news.
1. The Royal Wedding by Hello!
(iPhone and iPad – Free)
Hello!’s wedding app is one of the best. A basic picture-driven app that works especially well on the iPad, it stands out from the rest of the Royal Wedding apps.
2. ITN Royal Wedding Video App
(iPhone and Android – Free)
The app, developed to support ITN’s ‘Royal Wedding Channel’ on YouTube, delivers up -to-date news and video content on all things royal in the run up to the big day.
An absurd app that allows you to 'dress' the Queen in a polka-dot bathing suit and place her alongside her grandsons, who may just happen be sporting an eccentric handle-bar moustache if that’s what you are in to. The app borders on being tasteless and disrespectful, but will provide the more immature user with a giggle or two.
Will you be crowned the Weakest Link? If so, you need to be sharp on your general knowledge and prepared for the occasional odd royal wedding question, which has been thrown in for good measure. A little slow at times but a satisfying experience.
The app features a combination of arty regal-themed tea towels alongside appropriately themed audio clips, such as the obvious “Wedding March.” However, there is no doubt that the majority of iPhone owners would sooner fork out 59p on Angry Birds.
6. Royal Invite
(iPhone – free)
Pretend you’ve been personally invited to the wedding by Her Majesty the Queen with an onscreen invitation to show your friends. Having seen one of the official invites, it’s safe to say this app hasn’t quite hit the nail on the head with its digital take on the invitation.
7. Royal Wedding Pairs
(iPhone – free)
Turn over tile-after-tile as you attempt to find a pair. A decent app to pass the time on a two minute tube journey between St James’ Park and Victoria but anything longer and it’ll soon become tedious.
8. A Royal Wedding Celebration: William and Kate
(iPhone and iPad - £0.59)
An app packed full of content, from details of how the royal romance blossomed to which celebs made it onto the guest list. It also features an impressive collection of Press Association images which is will update with further images after the big day.
9. Royal Wedding Essential Guide
(iPhone and iPad - £0.59)
This guide has been well put together and features a wide range of content, including an interactive map showing locations connected to the wedding. The 'Royal Personality Test' is a must-do for those who secretly want to be in the monarchy.
10. Coming soon: The first official “Royal App” by the Royal Collection, on April 18
(iPhone and Android - £1.79)
If you are interested in the royal weddings that preceded William and Kate’s, then this is the app for you. It covers seven weddings from Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840, to The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in 2005. The Royal Weddings App reveals the tradition, splendour and romance of previous marriages through a rustic-themed photo gallery and some interesting articles.
