Monet exhibition in Paris expected to break all records
Art gallery attendance records are expected to be broken by the world's largest Claude Monet retrospective, which is opening on Paris on Wednesday.
Simply entitled Claude Monet (1840-1926), the exhibit at the Grand Palais on the Champs Elysées will put almost 200 works of the much-loved impressionist painter on display.
Richard Thompson, the exhibition's British co-curator, it was the largest single collection of Monets the world has ever seen, and is the first major Monet retrospective in France since 1980.
